Peer Mentoring Program

Our Mission

Our Mentoring Program is a peer-to-peer service to help students from all majors through their academic experience while enrolled at AUI. Older and more experienced students help new and continuing students from the same major to plan their studies beforehand and make wise decisions regarding their educational path. Each new student in the university is automatically assigned a first-semester mentor with whom he or she meets every week to share experiences and concerns, in addition, to discussing and seeking advice from the mentor. Continuing students can also benefit from the mentoring service.

Our Mentors

Mentors receive a special training under the regulations and requirements of the CRLA and receive a IPTPC certification. Mentors are responsible for providing accurate information to the students and guiding them through a smooth transition to AUI life. The experience our students have gained while at Al Akhawayn University is priceless; hence, we want them to share as much as possible with fellow students through the mentoring services.

Certification

Our Peer Mentoring Program is Certified!

The Center for Learning Excellence has been granted a five years certification for both our tutoring and our mentoring services by the CRLA. The College of Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) is an American based organization whose mission is “to provide a forum for the interchange of ideas, methods, and information to improve student learning and to facilitate the professional growth of its members.” We are currently the only center in Africa and the Middle East that holds the following stage three certifications: The International Tutor Training Program Certification (ITTPC) as well as The International Mentor Training Program Certification (IMTPC). To know that we get to keep this tittle until 2024 is truly a privilege that reflects the hard work of our team and the enormous support of the AUI community.
